
Back to Basics: Teaching Body Parts, Senses, and Emotions
If you are employed in a state that uses a registry to track professional development hours, you will be able to provide your registry ID (Stars, MOPID, Registry or other ECE ID#) after you have completed the quiz for the course. If you pass the quiz we will report your course completion to the state registry using the registry ID that you provide. Course length – 2.0 hours.
The basics of early childhood include teaching our little ones about their bodies, senses, and emotions.
The course will help answer the following questions:
How can I begin to teach body parts to infants?
Can I still teach body parts to school-age children?
How many senses are there?
How can I teach the basics of the senses to children?
What is sensory processing disorder?
Why is it important for children to be able to identify their emotions?
Participants who successfully complete this course will:
Know techniques to teach children body parts from infant to school age.
Understand eight senses and how to teach them.
Be introduced to what SPD is and the types.
Learn why helping children identify and name their emotions is important.
