Description
If you are employed in a state that uses a registry to track professional development hours, you will be able to provide your registry ID (Stars, MOPID, Registry or other ECE ID#) after you have completed the quiz for the course. If you pass the quiz we will report your course completion to the state registry using the registry ID that you provide.
This course is for anyone new to home childcare whether you are considering opening one in your home or recently started running one. There is much to consider above casual babysitting. Course length – 2.0 hours.
This course will help answer the following questions:
Do I need to be licensed?
What materials do I need?
What kind of paperwork will I need?
How much of my home should be available?
How do I decide which children to accept?
What if I need to terminate a child?
Participants who successfully complete this course will:
Understand how to access the rules and regulations for how to start home childcare in their state.
Know the importance of setting and keeping boundaries when running home childcare.
Know some appropriate ways to terminate a family if there should be a need.
Know how to properly interview a prospective family to receive the appropriate information to see if they are a good fit for their home childcare.
